While teaching children and teenagers in my studio for ten years, I developed lesson plans inspired by art history. As a studio artist, I use many of the same art historical influences in my own work. I look to art history texts and museums for creative stimulation. The smallest detail of an art object can spark my imagination into a whole new world of exploration.
Combining traditional oil paints, industrial paint products, metallic and luminescent pigments and foils enhances the surface of my work with layers of rich color and texture. I enjoy experimenting with non-traditional processes and media in a variety of subject matter and continue to be fascinated by the surprising and beautiful results. |
